UK Feminista is dedicated to supporting people to take action and create lasting change.
As the only national NGO dedicated to helping individuals and local groups take action on
women’s issues, UK Feminista plays an important role in the women’s movement - since its launch
in 2010 UK Feminista has received plenty of media attention and helped raise the profile of
women’s issues among ‘ordinary people’ – the secrets of its success lie with a talented leadership
team who understand what it takes to nurture activist movements – importantly,
UK Feminista does
not tell local groups what to work on, rather it provides training, resources and forums that enable
volunteers to set their own agendas – violence against women is a top priority across the activist
network, and the grants give help groups to engage politicians, police forces and the public more
effectively on the issues. UK Feminista supports people to take action in three main ways:
We offer resources and training on how to campaign for change. Find out how to set up a feminist group, lobby decision-makers, run a campaign, and more.
We work with young people and teachers to tackle sexism in the classroom. We deliver workshops, offer training and provide practical resources for promoting sex equality in schools.
We run campaigns and join with other organisations to directly drive change. We successfully campaigned for supermarkets to ‘Lose the Lads’ Mags’ and are currently urging the government to tackle sexual harassment in schools.
